I recieved a letter from FOS asking for a copy of my PPI policy document... they seemed a bit surprised when i said i never had a separate doc only a booklet that i asked for in Jan this year.
Has anyone got a separate ppi policy doc which states how much ppi they pay a month to firstplus?
I told them i only have the booklet and origional loan ageement....

Hi Holly
Good luck with this, hope they get this sorted out for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Holly,
That's interesting as I don't have any actual policy document either.
Only when I started to form my letter to reclaim my PPI, did I realise this! Like you, I only have the Key Facts document and the original loan agreement.
Let us know what happens with this! Have good old FP made a huge mistake - or are we paying for something that has never actually been issued and we were never covered?!
Cheers,
June0 -
hi holly
I think you will find that a lot of us FPcustomers dont have seperate documents about the ppi.
The only way I could find out was to send FP a Subject access request £10 and you get everything they hold including calls , and the ppi details, quite shocking the ammount we have to pay over the whole loan.
ITruns only for five years and pays out only for one,but we pay for it till the loan is paid off , many thousands too much.
loans fo a certain age were just written with all the figures included and no seperate mention of PPI.
So you;ll need to send an SAR ,templates on here ,alterit to suit your own circumstances and send recorded to FP.0 -

We never had anything at all to do with the PPI at all and when we requested the SAR they did not send it either. It was only after numerous other letters and threats with the ICO etc that we then received what they told us the certificate of our insurance and terms and conditions etc. I even tell them in a phone call (which is blanked out on the tape conveniently) but documented in their telephone transcripts when I am querying the settlement in 2003 that we had no policy details whatsoever. There are lots that never had anything to do with the insurance (which incidently we did not request on the loan application either and left blank) but this was the time when we are said to have read through them and knew what we taking on. (yeah right!!!).
Firstplus let you have in the SAR what they want you to have so really the ICO cannot do anything cause they will just state "we do not have it " and blank all the phone calls out that would win your claim. I got in touch with the ICO when Firstplus had done this with my calls etc and was told "Firstplus would not want to imcriminate themselves would they". What kind of answer was that from an organisation that supposedly is there to help.0 -
hi again,
Marshallka is right they are very picky with what they send, but as far as claiming misselling the onus is on them to prove they did not , we dont !
When you make your claim and state your reasons FP has to prove they did not do what your saying, so by not providing the calls they are doing you a favor as when you send your case to the Ombudsman it does look bad fro them , hence the ombudsman up holding between 80/90% of cases.
My two loans were 2003 and 2004 and after a few good letters and ignoring a few of theirs , kept pushing them and after 2 months got them to admit it and pay all the ppi interest restate loan etc.
It can be done , remember they have to disprove your accusations ,not the other way around.0 -
I have a loan with FP took one out in 2005 then a top up in 2006 the PPI is over £10k they have told me they did not deal with the PPI it was loans.co.uk so I have sent a letter tothem at beg of June still not heard a thing. I have still been paying theloan and also PPI but if this was tobe refunded and also the previous loan I would be able to pay most of it off. They have until the 7th July.....next week then my complaint is going back to the FOS. Have had enough of them.:jLiving Life to the Full0

hi,
Ihave had loads of dealings with FP, they always try to put people on to the broker, ignore them.
They are fully accountable and are just trying to get rid of you.
Ihave two loans also arranged through a broker, 2003 2004, already been successful on the ppi side of things, now persuing them for secret commissions through the courts.
The FOS is a good option if you just want ppi back , but ilke me with two loans ,you could be throwing away a chance of getting more back by persuing the m Direct first ,if it fails you can still go to ombudsman.
google firstpluscomplaints, there are over 400 firstplus unhappy customers ,working together to get each other the refunds they deserve.0 -
i had a snotty letter from norton finance saying in was informed in a phone call that it was a 5 yr policy and was told how must it would cost with ppi andd with out ppi...a load of boll**ks..but the phone calls were not recorded in 2004...so how do they know that ?
and i had time to read all documents before i signed
i have spoke to first plus and asked for all calls or info regarding all calls to be sent to me as nortons sent all the info over to fp when they completed their part.
I have got a SAR from fp but nothing about calls...
Nortons also said in the letter that the FOS would not look into my complaint as it was in 2004 !
Norton sent me my money back as they have no info anymore

Hi there Holly
What annoys me with them is the fact that they state they informed you this and that and discussed this and that on the phone, how can they prove it the muppets??
What have they got there to tell you this? as they confirmed no recordings. They are fobbing you off Holly, but keep it going, because being sold this single policy anyway you have a strong chance here, the FOS will certainly look into this, and these are dimly looked at.
So just as long as you don't mind waiting with the FOS, you should be okay here.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
