Bought sale item now reduced again!

Last week I bought a jacket from Debenhams, it had been reduced by £20, they have now knocked another £10 off it (but don't have my size), I haven't worn it, still have the receipt and the tags are still on. Someone has told me to take it back for refund and buy it back instantly at the new price, is this possible, has anyone done this at Debenhams? Thanks

If you return it, I would have thought they're not tied to put it straight back out for sale, for you to get again at the reduced price. On the other hand of course if you don't think it's worth what you paid for it, take it back anyway.0

I wouldn't reommend this, as they would put it behind the till and then you would have to actually ask before getting to buy it back, which I dont think they would let you do...
if they had your size then possibly you could. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -

If you paid with a mastercard type credit card, or a store card, your normally able to claim back the difference.
If you paid with cash, its normally the going thing that you saw it at a price you deiced was acceptable. You paid for it to confirm this and now own it. If it gets reduced after then, this is regardless of anything as you already decided its previous price was cheap enough.
BUT personally, I'd have a look, see what other sizes are available. If you spot your size, re-buy and take back the old one.
If you can't spot your size, its because they are sold out, and there is a reason its been reduced again: the only sizes are the ones no one wants and the store have decided to reduce again in a bid to get rid of all the unwanted sizes.0 -
Thanks for the replies, I am off to town later and going to be cheeky and ask if I can have it for the new price. I know they don't have my size as I had a real job finding it in the first place, but if you don't ask you don't get. Will let you know what happens later on.0

If you like it you haven't lost whatever the outcome!catch220 -
You could buy a new one at the cheaper price, then take back the original one for a refund.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

or just accept you bought it at a bargain price already and stop thinking about taking it back. I find it disgusting to be honest, if you wasnt happy to pay £20 for it, then why buy it?0

I'd be a wee bit annoyed if I bought something that then got reduced further! lol A lot of shops have a policy where they will refund the difference, you never know until you ask! GL!
