broadband confusion.

i have just signed up for the bt connection charge special offer (free line installation). 18 month term. i'm looking for cheap broadband but bt's prices are way over the top.
q- if i use an alternate broadband provider do i have to get the stand alone broadband as any package that includes line rental will presumily break my contract.
i tried to ask bt but they confused me even more. thanks.

Thats right, if you move to bundle of services that includes line rental, you will get an early termination charges from BT. But you can get broadband from whoever you like.0
