Citroen or Toyota?
Been looking at the Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo 5 doors.
They are the same car, but with differant badges.
Toyota looks like it will keep more of it`s value over 3 years 52 0/0 and Citroen 49 0/0, and looking at What car`s website i should be able to pick up base model 5 door for same price.
Am tempted to go for the Toyota as I think it is a better brand, and others will think so too.
But what about costs? Are Toyota`s more to service than the Citroen?
Repairs etc should be the same as same car underneath-a toyota engine.
Which would you buy?
Thanks

Ditto
Have a look at the JD Powers Customer Satisfaction Poll and compare the high ranking position for Toyota with other manufacturers.;)

I first heard about the JD Powers (customer satisfaction) survey on the BBC Top Gear programme. Toyota appeared in the top five of 100 cars. That influenced my decision to buy my first Toyota car years ago.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give me a toyota anytime, in preference to almost any other car. Driven 10 over the last 30 years and only had one breakdown ( and that was in a very old one that was never serviced. )0

I would take these surveys with a VERY large pinch of salt. Anyone who believes these surveys 100% knows very little about cars, one of these types of survey recently put Fiat as the 3rd most reliable make, ahead of Honda and Lexus, that did make me laugh!!!
The only point i would make with these surveys is Toyota is nearly always is at the very top and Citroen near the bottom.
However i believe both these cars are built in the same factory on the same production line, and if the residual value and purchase price is so similar after 3 years, then there is not much difference here.
However i would expect the servicing cost to be slightly cheaper for the Citroen, but only marginally. Where Toyota wins is in its customer service, i would expect this to be superior to Citroen.
I think there’s not much between them, go for the one you like best. Only by playing dealers off against each other would there be any significant difference in purchase price, otherwise both are similar.0 -
Toyota deffinitely unless you want your new car to spend more time in their garage than yours

Toyota everytime!....Toyota Dealers customer service is outstanding!
not only that but the car will be reliable, and will be worth more as/when you come to trade it in.
You should be able to save a couple of hundred pounds off an Aygo by shopping online....brokers such as dealdrivers, drivethedeal etc should be able to help you.New car (not even 2months old) up for sale:-

I'm not knocking Toyota, they build great cars - but I've had my Citroen Picasso for 5 years from new and it has never let me down, never gone wrong (my husband had one of the first Toyota Avensis' and it was always in the garage!).0

Eh? Same car different badge, spend the least you can which means the Citroen. Sure it might depreciate a little less but it cost less in the first place and all small, econimical cars have a good resale value.
Better still buy one off ebay or autotrader second hand, these little cars get good reviews. This signature is not mine!0
