Sounds like you want to lay blame at the dealers door without giving him a chance to rectify the problem......

You can't really go out and spend the money then complain afterwards. Why would you buy a car from a dealer with only 6 weeks MOT in any case?

There doesn't appear to be much evidence here of the dealer being at fault, as said before cars do break down and he has not been given an opportunity to resolve that. If it turns out he is a dodgy dealer though you have not exactly made it hard for him to fleece you......

Im not sure why you're quoting that, as the O/P never bothered going near the dealer in the first place to ask them to fix it?

Just incase OP still had a lingering thought they had some kind of case to bring against the dealer.
