Yes but isn't it a coincidence that they should both charge £20.49, not exactly a price that immediately springs to mind?
Thanks to all who post constructively.

I don't think I've been able to find a better offer on the 1GB storage but nothing seems to beat Dabs for a 2GB storage key.

I bought a couple of items from Eclipse last year- can't recommend them. It might have improved now but I didnt even get a confirmation email after the order and the post sales service was awful and the products looked like returns with awful packaging.

https://www.bigpockets.co.uk have one for a similar price. Not used Ecclipse before, but bigpockets sponsor and post on the dvdforums and are reputable.0

Need to buy a 1gb high speed SD memory card for new Nikon D50 (purchased after tip on MSE). However do not understand about high speed cards. Some dont seem to specify. The one on Bigpockets says Read Speed 8mbs and write speed 6mbs.
If anyone can spare a minute to educate me it would be very much appreciated.0 -
Kenbury, I'm not sure what memory cards the D50 uses, so I'll assume that you know as you have one! Hehe!
As for the speeds, the 6Mb/sec and 8Mb/sec you quoted there will be more than adequate for practically everything you could want to do with your camera. When you press the shutter button, the camera writes the image out to a buffer, and this buffer can store a few images at a time. This buffer then writes them out to the SD card. The only times you'll notice the speed of a card making a difference is if you take lots of shots in rapid succession (ie, at the max speed of the camera, probably around 3frames per second - but this will probably be limited to <10 frames!).
In short, you won't notice any difference between most cards under normal everyday circumstances.
Hope that helps!0
