I received some snail mail yesterday from Leeds which informed me that they are relocating their Birmingham branch on the 1st of August and to celebrate they have "Exclusive offers to celebrate our new branch opening". These include the Birmingham Instant Access Account a variable rate access account which pays a market leading 3.05% Gross p.a./AER (variable) including bonus until 31st August 2010, exclusively for new investments.
In addition there is the Birmingham Monthly saver a fixed rate account which pays 5% gross p.a./AER for 12 months.
These accounts are offered "exclusively from our Birmingham branch".

Not a good reason for anyone to travel to Brum, I doubt if even 10% Gross would entice me there but if anyone is local or more fortunately, passing by on the 1st of August, it may be of interest :rotfl:

Was it Leeds who offered an a/c. a couple of years ago which paid a preferential rate if the a/c. was opened at one of two branches somewhere up North ? I seem to recall that it may have been a Regsave but my grey matter has been reformatted recently and all the data has been lost.
