Hey everyone!

Seen so many cars on eBay that have been resprayed pink! Some looking really nice! Just wondered if anyone knows how much it costs? where you would get it done? and is it possible to do yourself? Also where would I buy the equipment? looked on google with no luck.

Thinking of buying the equipment and doing it to a few cars, possibly start up a business and putting them up for sale, they sell for alot more if they are pink! Even old bangers!

Really hope someone can help me. it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I cant give much advice about this - but do you have the space to do it?
My dad sprays cars and buses often (he races cars and builds them himself, and is a bus mechanic!) He built a purpose built shed that had to be all plastic so it was a completely dustless enviroment....have also seen this on pimp my ride!

Nevr really taken much notice of the spraying cars he does - but he always said he would nevr use black paint as it runs too easily! not relvent but sticks in my head because i wanted a black mini!

You can have cars resprayed for between £300 and £1500 depending on how much work is involved. You can buy a compressor and spray gun for £200 ish, but obtaining a really good finish is quite a skill. I know a few people who sprayed cars on their front drives in sunny weather, but I wouldn't bother myself when a bodyshop can do it so easily.

Ideal if you live on a farm and have a spare barn - you can have your own spray booth.

Whole car needs to be stripped really and I wouldn't like to do it out in the open - the tiniest bit of dust or dirt carried on the wind could completely !!!! up your finish.

When I bought my Honda Jazz they had a beautiful one in pink in the centre of the showroom. I desperately wanted it but my hubby said we would have great difficulty selling it on and persuaded me to buy the ice blue one. I love the car but still wish I'd chosen pink.

Pink car = say goodbye to your resale value. Whilst the pink Jazz is quite nice, pink is really quite a, err, acquired taste.

You need to find yourself a proper firm that will paint the car in a sealed booth (no air allowed in) and bake it (I had a partial respray on my Mini and was slightly alarmed to learn that they baked it in an oven to dry once they'd finished applying the paint). Ask to see any samples of their work, as you don't want to splash out and find that they are hopeless.
