Don't touch Tesco. I got 3 dvd's in two weeks, 2 of the 3 discs the same. A 4th disc never arrived. When i canceled it took 5 days for a disk to get back to them and to book it in. They then had the cheek to charge me a months rental when i tried to cancel because because of the poor service because i canceled on the same day they charge your card.
DONT TOUCH RIP OFF TESCO

I'll echo Bumfield007. Also have tescos and the service is terrible. I haven't had a DVD for over a week. Emailed them twice and each time the response has failed to answer my questions. Have 20 DVDs on my list and last email response from them was that 6 films on my list were released in the last 3 weeks which might be why I haven't had a film, they suggested I put some older films on my list! Would be interested to know what rental service people recommend.0

I'm with Tesco's and haven't had any problems with them.. I trialled with Sainsburys too and they were fine.. .I'm sticking with Tesco for 3 months as then I get 1,000 point bonus! I also set up my brother and my bf with tesco 14 free trial so I got 500 points!!!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

Try blockbuster.
2 weeks free trial of 3 DVDs, and you get £15 via quidco for signing up to it :-)0 -
Blockbuster and LoveFilm were good for me, but seems different people have different experiences.
So long as it's a free rental no complaints from me!i tHink, therEfore I'vE goT a BLOODY heAdAche0 -
Why not do a few free trials first and see which one works for you? (or have you already done that?)0

I used to have the Screenselect service (which powers the Tesco service described above). I, like many others, have found that they will do anything to stop people cancelling and charging them an extra month's subscription - like the slowness in exchange/receipt of disks, deliberately continuing to send out disks, etc.
I am now with Sainsburys (which is powered by the rival Lovefilm service) and it has been excellent so far.0 -
amazon is very efficient, get new dvd by return of post usually. only problem has been that some dvds "stick" -i have returned "the notebook" 3 times and have yet to see the ending!!!Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.....0

The notebook is one of the cheesyist movies ever! Although I can imagine its really annoying not seeing the end. I could tell you, but It would just spoil it...0

I've used Blockbuster a few times and I'm happy to recommend them. Discs have always been dispatched quickly and certainly on my current subscription I've been able to get titles from near the top of my list. Cancellation has always been simple and hassle free and they have always "invited" me back with reduced rates after a few weeks. I think I had one disc lost in the post on my first sub and that was no problem either.
Like someone posted above you can get £15 if you join via Quidco and there was an offer to get a 2 month free trial which is what I'm on at the moment.
hope that helps
EDIT - I think you can get the Blockbuster 2 month trial with this code XZTP56 if it's still working."Whatever happened to string?"0
