    Use auto trader instead.

We tried that and no takers for 3 weeks, even at a great price. Sold on ebay with better than expected price:eek:. Cash buyer, everyone very happy. Auto trader was far more expensive than ebay.

Sold one & they never left feedback, So i didnt either.

2 Months later they finally left feedback, "Put through its paces & all fine" or something like that.
Then emails me every day asking if i can leave feedback. Were they waiting to see if it broke down before leaving negative?

Its a 10 year old card for under £400, what do you want? You inspected it & drove it before handing over the money. I cannot be fairer than that.

Sorry i cannot leave feedback, When io tried ebay said time limit exceeded.

Well I had a load of calls with people that seem interested and some of them were kind enough to rind back and say there now not others just couldnt be bothered.

I also had 2 people that decided to txt me questions rather then ring me which personally I think is just plain rude as most of the stuff they was asking was actually on the listing and its much easier to make a call and quicker.

I had a best offer on ebay which I have now accepted as im basically fed up with people wasting my time as I do have a life and my own things to do.

Fingers crossed the guy who put the offer in now comes to collect his car!

Make sure they buyer pays in cash, don't accept Paypal (Obvious, but you never know...)

OK this doesn't seem to be going to well.

I accept his offer at about half 6 on Fri evening and I made it clear in my listing I would like to be contacted with 24hrs to arrange collection which I don't think is asking a lot.

Unfortunately that hasn't happened so I decided to get his contact info from ebay and give him a call which unfortunately didn't work as his number doesn't accept incoming calls.

Not sure what to do next but I really want the car gone asap as its taking up space and there isn't much tax left on it.

Does anyone know how long I can leave it before I can open a dispute or even re-list it?

tecnichally your meant to wait 7 days to open a dispute , then they have another 7 to respond but i'd just relist it and open the dispute for the original listing when 7 days is up.

this is exactly the reason i advised to sell on auto trader, with AT the worst a messer can do is come and kick the tyres, or ring and not bother to come and view after arranging to, with ebay they can bid to buy and end your listing, then when they turn out to be messers you're back to square one.

you did the right thing asking for contact within 24 hours, that gives you a quick heads up to whether they're likely to be genuine, if they haven't contacted, they most likely aren't.

The message saying the phone does not accept in coming calls is what you get when you haven't paid your phone bill, and the bills been outstanding for some time, the block outgoing calls first, when they block incoming calls they aren't far of terminating the line all together. This is not a good sign, your buyer is unlikely to be able to pay for your car if he can't pay his phone bill.

Report the buyer for incorrect contact details, it might get you your fees back quicker if they are NARUed. beyond that re-list and hope for more luck next time.
  • To be honest, had similar troubles with eBay as already said; Buyers not turning up, etc etc.

Listed my car on fridayAds instead and was inundated with calls and enquiries and eventually sold the car without issue and for full asking price. Currently have another car up on FridayAds with the same responce; Have three guys currently interested and the car doesn't even run!
