    Some do debs, you also get gardeners inadvertently disturbing them from under leaves.

    The yellow and white bits on the photos, are they all part of the mystery creature or is any to do with a flower.....? If you could tell us that it would be a great help.

    Hi,,

    Sorry was away at Glastonbury! Ok,, yes the yellow and white bits were all part of it,,, the closest thing it looked like was the fluffy headed moth,,, but it was the wings ( if they were wings) that threw me,, they were like popcorn/ porridge oats. It dissapeared from my garden, so i will never really know, but thankyou to everyone for your great ideas :T

    Wonder if anyone can tell me what the insect I saw was whilst at my daughters who lives in a different part of the country.
    It was a wasp shaped,flying insect that was the most amazing deep crimson on the bottom half of it's body and a petrol blue/green on the top.It was'nt bright but looked pearlised.
    I've never seen one before.
