Lidl's customer service is truly appalling. It is impossible to 'phone any of their stores, the only number is a rip-off 0870 number.
I believe their posted "refund policy" notice is sailing very close to the legal wind. I have already complained to Trading Standards about this.
They flatly refused, store manager AND regional manger, to give my daughter a refund on a defective item. I wrote to head office and threatened them with court under the Sale of Goods Act. She got a refund and £20.
We still buy food there, but I will NEVER again buy anything else over a couple of quid from them.
I just don't understand the attitude in their stores; they must lose far more in future trade than they ever gain by this attitude over refunds etc.
  • well moonrakerz once i changed jobs from lidl to another store health and saftey visited i told them its not us you want to be looking at its that blasted lidl's the health and safety there is outrageous pallets are supposed to be no taller than me im 5ft4" and the where my height and a half weighed a ton and then how can staff stock shelves lifting in the correct way when they get a ten minute time limit on each pallet and in that time rotate stock too its just stupid! its all about money when it comes to lidl no regards to staff just grab grab grab money money money! need shutting down!
Ignorance (harry o) It's not a lark sleeping in the park as u go walking by,Though im praying 4 my wings As u look with ur blind eye,4 who gives homes 2 garden gnomes,While their brothers & sisters cry,So give us a break 4 heaven's sake Beacause were not mad of stone,& u know the world will b a better place When every1 has a home!

well people avoid lidl like the plague
anyway basically the whole place is a shambles not only is the structure of the staff and management crap so is the quality of their goods!
i started working at 6:30am i dont expect to still be there doing stock take until 1:20am with only 1hr lunch! hasten to say i quit but only after i hurt my back! vowing never to return! i dont miss the staff i dont miss the sweating for nothing i dont miss the rude illegal immigrants and i dont miss missing my lunch every day just to get the stock room clear! ok essay over sorry! just lidl is a sore point :) if you hadnt noticed!

As you previously worked for Lidl , I find it difficult to imagine how you can state that the quality of their goods are crap. Their biccies are mcvities, united , burtons, their sauces are heinz , muller yougurts, the list goes on, the stereo's are rebadged Phillips or Pioneers....... Wine has been voted the best by the Royal Families wine testers over the wine reccommeded for the royal family .

On the basis of how they treat their staff:
Lidl are no different to any discount company. Use half the staff but pay them double the money. You were willing to grab the carrot but obviously found it hard to swallow.
Regarding training. If you require assistance and need a course in management then the company will assist you in every aspect. Unfortunately it looks as though you have been working under a District Manager that is a loose cannon or lacks the required skills to operate his district. A good store manager can easily start at 7 O'Clock and be home for 5 O'clock. Any longer then you only have either yourself or your DM to blame.
I am not having a dig, but I do regret leaving Lidl as their money was great and their promotion within was something that other companies could learn a great deal from.
  • . . . . i dont miss the rude illegal immigrants . . .
