Comparison of the first photo (now removed) and second photo - missing wheel nut cover in a different position? Tissue on ground?

I didn't realise that I put the first picture on i took it for a different reason so ignore it and I won't be submitting it to the council = even i'm not that petty.

I guess my observations are irrelevant if you're no longer submitting the first photo (presumably older).

I'm curious now to know why you took the first photo? Do you often take photos of your car wheels? Or did you yourself notice the discrepancy between the "older" photo and the ones in the Council carpark? ;)

Why didnt you reverse in and get your child out of the side with the empty bay?

It looks like your car was parked at an angle too so no sympathy here I'm afraid.

I'm selling the alloy on my car wheel that's why I took the photo of my car wheel in the car park as it was daylight and I needed to get the photo printed as i was in town in the afternoon . It was in the morning that I parked in this specific car park so that's why i have got two different photos. I'm not very good at reverse parking that's why i didn't reverse park but that wouldn't have made a difference as i have two children and so both sides of the car have car seats in them. It was an honest mistake and if i'd know this would have happened i would have taken a bit more care in parking, i don't deliberately park incorrectly just to make life easier for me to get my children out of the car.:o

What a coincidence, you'll be able to pay the £25 when you sell it.:D
  • I would request the photos the warden took at the time if I was you.

If you were struggling with your tiny car, I guess the guy in the Range Rover must have been trapped in his?

If I'd parked in the space closer to the camera, you'd REALLY have struggled to get back in your car. I park perfectly straight, no matter how other cars are parked. Even at work. We all watched once, when one of the Partners had to climb through the passenger side of his car to get in, because I was the only person brave enough to park next to him. It was the last available space, and he was right on the line. But, I guess he knew the risk he was taking and wasn't bothered.

Not that any of this is relevant, of course. All that matters is whether or not the signs are correct (nothing wrong with them that I can see) and if the ticket is correctly worded - which it does appear to be to me. However, I'm sure someone else more knowledgeable will be along to advise properly.

Let's back this up a bit.

Your original post said that you "parked on the white lines and not over into the car space on the left hand side" and asked for MSE members' help. My initial reaction, like others no doubt, was of an over officious parking attendant adding to his daily tally by being pedantic.

But you then submitted pictures that showed you were well into the adjacent space on photos 2 & 3 and that they were clearly taken at different time from photo 1 - see Tigsteroonie's post. I commented on this.

You explained that photo 1 - now removed - was taken at a different time, inserted by mistake for the purpose of selling your alloys, but even on that occasion, you managed to park on the line! Do you not see that you are sending out signals that you are a serial offender !!!

Your explanation of why you encroached on the vacant space in your photos was because you have to struggle with children and there were no mother and baby spaces available. As you seem to think this excuses taking up 2 spaces, then extrapolating that forward, you presumably think that, at any time in the future, if there are no wide spaces available, it is ok to deny someone else the right to park alongside by taking up some of the next space.

But as a fellow motorist - and incidentally a parent who has brought up 3 children and encountered the same problems with getting children out and into cars - I have encountered "over the box" parking a number of times and always wished that "someone would do something about this" This time, it appears that the council have done their job.

MSE forum members do try to help, and I am sure that someone may be prepared to put some effort into helping you find some technicality that would get you off. But, in this case, I am afraid that I am not sympathetic, for the reasons above - others may take a different view.
