ESA stopped

Its worth pointing out that a GL24 isnt essential to appeal, it can be written on a tissue so long as it is legible, but the GL24 is handy for getting the format right.0

got my appeal form completed and sent today so thats something.
I phoned the Belfast office again today and got speaking to someone this time - he was trying his best to be helpful but was obviously new and kept on having to go and check with someone else - he is sending me a form to apply for help with my mortgage; confirmed that whilst I am appealing, payments of ESA will restart at the same rate again.
He told me that I couldnt change from contribution based to income related whilst appealing. But I could make a fresh claim although he wasnt able to tell me what extra benefits there would be to me to claim IR or what other implications there might be.
The lady in the advice centre wasnt able to help me much about that either so if anyone does know whether eg I would get more money if I applied for the IR ESA ( I have no other income, no partner and grown up independent children) or what other benefits go along with the IR ESA ( I already get free prescriptions due to an ongoing medical condition and have just had a dental check up with no further treatment necessary!)
Or should I just stay on the contribution based?
Thoughts?
You cannot choose to claim the income based ESA instead of the contribution based ESA, depending on your circumstances the contribution based ESA could be topped up by the income based ESA.0 -
Hi to you all I have appealed against my decision turning me done for the extra £20 on esa . I am on the sick with bad depression and stress and now i am being tested to see if im bio polar . The doctor who done my assesment is a quack if you as me didnt do any think to see if i have short term merory loss ?
and turned me down because i was smartly dressed ? and didnt rock in the chair ?
as when i go to my own doctors he just looks at me an knows im not right so these assesmant doctors just because they cannot see the illness on the out side thinks your are ok
I am going to a ttibunal on the 7/7 to see if i can get my money up as i have been on sick since nov 08
after mental breakdown
so on the day i go i will rock in my chair and dress like a tramp !!!!!
I would love a job but at the moment i feel if i had a job and someone was rude to me i would hit them or exploded at them so i would lose my job and then would never get one . so il wait till i feel well enough to get a job but when that will be no one knows

ESA - what are the other benefits that go along with IR and not contribution based ESA? I didn't think it sounded like a good idea to make a new claim and I'd like to think that the guy on the phone was checking with experts and not just the nearest person to him!!!;)
Healy - not quite sure what you mean by the topping up - given that my circumstances are that I have no dependents and this is my only income at present, would topping up be appropriate?
Am I really expected to live on approx £64 per week?0 -
yes you are you could apply for dla0
