May sound funny but peanut butter really does work. Used it on an old car of mine - Bumpers looked new - Shame about the rest of the car :-( Cheap own brand is all thats required, works a treat but leaves the car smelling a little strange for a couple of days!LBM : March 2008

I'm just surprised how many posts went by before Peanut butter was suggested :rotfl:
Not tried it myself, but on other car forums it's a well know rememedy for cleaning of polish that's got onto plastic trim.0 -
Old Golf bumpers respond well to a heat gun too, brings them up like new (but sadly doesn't last)0

back to black is crap only lasts for a week. find your nerest automotive paint supply and ask them for something for your trim they will sell you a 5l tin of the yellow stuff wash the car and apply it will stay black for ages and resist rain. getting t-cut is near imposible but hot water and a toothbrush might work depends on how long it been there0

someone in my car club suggested wd40 - it removes stains as well as re-blacking by actually cleaning the faded layer off the plastic, rather than painting it black like other methods. beceause of this, it lastsfor ages as well. i tried it too and it works a treat! highly recommended!0

Totally agree !
I got some stuff from my local Ford dealer, they poured some from a gallon (5L) can into a bottle for me. It is a blue/green colour and looks like engine oil. Haven't a clue what it was called though.
It is what they use on their cars on the forecourt.0 -

that works too but wd40 is messy it gets washed away in the rain and leaves dirty marks on the paint as it drips eninge oil works too but attracts dirt in the summersomeone in my car club suggested wd40 - it removes stains as well as re-blacking by actually cleaning the faded layer off the plastic, rather than painting it black like other methods. beceause of this, it lastsfor ages as well. i tried it too and it works a treat! highly recommended!0
