I recently 'cut' my paintwork, but the problem is that where the T Cut got on the plastic bits (impossible to avoid) it has stained it badly.
What is best to clean it up with please?

Been there done that and still trying to figure out how to get rid of it....
Car went before I found the solution...lol0 -
Hi there. You need to use a "back to black" trim protector, such as Simoniz Back To Black Trim Protector from Halfords at £4.99. I found that this worked really well for me, just make sure you follow the instructions properly.0

If it's the black textured plastic - buy a cheapo tube of black shoe polish (the type with a foam pad applicator). Looks great and lasts a lot longer than back to black.0

rumour has it that if you rub the affected area with a soft rubber eraser this will help remove the polish from the plastic.ive never tried it but it might be worth a bash.
next time its best to mask it off....work permit granted!0 -

gotta agree with this one - my little bro told me it was better than 'back to back' etc (he is a car polishing fanatic, it seems to be his hobby!) - I didn't believe him, but I tried it - he was right - its dead simple to apply, looks good and it lasts well too!
this sort of applicator:0 -
Don't use any of that crap, go on ebay and buy a bottle of Plasticare, it's fantastic and restored my tired bumpers from poor to show standard.0
-
Just for future reference, use masking tape to mask off the plastic before you start0
-
or failing that, dress the trim first so the polish is easier to get off.0

I am a member of a website to do with my old car (25 yr old Golf) and this question is often asked. Dont laugh, but most reccomend the use of peanut butter (the smooth one obviously), saying that it gives brilliant results. Something to do with the peanut oil I expect. I have never tried it personally but have seen before and after pictures.0

Blimey....do you work for the Peanut Butter Marketing Board?
