Income Tax Personal Allowance

As I am approaching 65, I have received a form from the Inland Revenue - requiring details of my income.

I am retired, and married.
Could anyone please tell me what my personal allowance is per annum, before I qualify to pay income tax?

The allowance last time, was - £4615. But I don't know whether it will be the same this time - or if there will be an increase.

    £7280.

I don't know if it works pro-rata though.

Many thanks irnbru - I hadn't known where to look, myself.

I checked this out for my mum when she was over 65 (found out she had been on the wrong tax code for a couple of years by then!) and the rule then was that the higher code applied to whole of the year in which the person had their 65th birthday. So even if your birthday was in March, you would get the higher allowance for the whole of year from the previous April.
