88555 MMS messages on bill

Hello,

I've been with Orange since January on their Dolphin 15 plan which gives me unlimited texts (i.e. 4000 texts) and 200 minutes for, you've guessed it, £15.

My bills have ALWAYS been more than £15, some months just by £1 and others by £5. I've always thought this was because I send a lot of texts and have most likely gone over.

The other day Orange set up my online account and I got to see my itemised usage, turns out that I've never sent over 4000 texts (closest is 3700-odd ). Instead I seem to have been charged numerous times for MMS messages to 8555. I've never heard of this number, and never send MMS messages! I googled the number and there doesn't seem to be much about it.

As an example, on Thurs 2nd April:

I supposedly sent 5 MMS messages to 88555 at just over 10p each! I didn't. :mad:

Before I phone up Orange and whine, is there anyone who can explain this? I know sometimes I accidentally click on the Orange World button on my phone but I always cancel immediately -- could this be it? I don't want to ring up and sound clueless.

Also, do you think there's any chance of me getting this money back? It's probably worth the cost of at least one month's bill so far, it wouldn't be frivilous of me for trying.

Have you entered any of these comps? If you haven't then contact Orange.

Ah, I have. I was told it would be a standard text message (which I get for free). Thanks! I won't be entering any in future, that's for sure.

Yeah that's just 1 of the ploys these companies use! Technically, it is the price of a standard text, but your phone company don't include them in the free bundle.
