Uhm, it's not a bank holiday today, is it? He's only going away for four days. He can't visit a job centre AND pack a suitcase for a short trip over a period of eighteen hours?

Its only cheap discounted tickets that cannot be changed.

I assume most people use budget airlines nowadays, especially young boys. They will need their extra euros for beer.

If you look at the time the OP posted,she posted at 6 mins past midnight and her son was leaving at 5 in the morning-so he didn't have 18 hours to do anything.

Ryanair charge HUGE amounts for name changes and it would be each leg of the journey. I have heard it is £100 plus any additional cost if the fare has increased since booked. With the budget airlines it is usually cheaper to book a whole new ticket
