Help needed buying my first NEW car

Hiya all,
I am taking a Toyota IQ 2 out on test drive tomorrow as my wife and I have decided this is the car for us. I am interested in this car as we have a motorhome and need a car to tow.
I wondered if anyone on here had any advise for haggling with Toyotas. I have already been in the show room and they have told me they are selling like hotcakes but I am sure this is what all salesman say.
I think it should be a good time to buy now as it is coming up to the end of the month and it is also June so they will be looking at end of quarter targets.
I am not sure whether to get the price knocked down as much as I can or see what accessories I can get thrown in or try for both. I am not even sure if they will discount it at all.
I am not P/X ing anything.
Any advise much appreciated.

Check online dealdrivers, drive the deal etc. Check the What Car target price. Then start checking dealers close to you and see how you go.

It's a new small model so you might be hard pushed to get much off.

Just looked at the OTR price made my eyes water. Are you sure you want to spend that amount on a tiny car with poor mpg?

    Thanks Hintza,
I will check out those sites. I am sure on the car we want and the mpg is very good. Also the no tax is a bonus and with only being about £200 a year to insure with 0 no claims as they are on the motorhome is very good I think

    Good choice ;)

I'm in same position. Loved the IQ2. However, the IQ3 with a 1.3 litre engine which does more MPG (but £35 / year road tax) is out in July so I'm holding out for that. Discounts seem to be small as there will be only a low production run. They expensive compared to similar sized rivals, but I prefer it so much more the the aygo /c1 / fiat 500 /ford as /fiesta etc.

Toyotas do sell like hot cakes because they hold their value - I can remember when I first ordered mine back in 2001 I had to wait for 6 months before I took delivery and I think it is much the same now. I was told that if I wanted a new Yaris then I would have to wait 5-6 months but I decided against it and am keeping my old one.

i ended up in a toyota dealers looking at these, they look terrible from outside and choices in spec or colour are practically non existent considering the price, but are nice inside and well laid out but they seem far too expensive for what it is. and there didnt seem to be any haggling room with the salesman we spoke to.

it might be too late for you to see this before your test drive, however my advice when looking to buy a car leave your heart and cheque book at home. After the test drive you'll want the car, but have a price in mind make the offer and if the salesman says no, leave your number and say if you change your mind call me, however I'm looking at other cars.
