I think this page confirms there will be an extra subscription needed just like Setanta

That's a good question. I noticed that a lot of Freeview PVR recorders were sold off cheaply by the supermarkets a few weeks ago. (Forget the brand, may have been Thomsons) They were sold with some sort of Sentanta offer bundled in.

Does this mean that viewers who have been watching on Freeview will no longer be able to do so? Or will ESPN just take over the Setanta slot on Freeview.

Will ESPN combine ESPN America with this new channel they are setting up? If so I might consider picking it up. I was always interested in ESPN America but did not want to pay the ridiculous Setanta subscription to get it.

ESPN will launch a new channel for UK viewers for the start of the new Prem season (Aug 15th).

It is understood that this channel will be available through Sky as an added on extra (like Setanta) for a fee of £10 P/M. HD will also follow.

It will be interesting to see if ESPN Classic and ESPN America, both available with Sky Sports will move over and only be available as part of a ESPN package once this channel is launched however.

Not worth it for £10 a month. It will have two games a week if your lucky and thats it? Your having a laugh.

Maybe they will do what sky use to do as a pay per game or complete season ticket, think it was called premiership plus and was just a dedicated channel for the football games - seem to remember the season ticket was £60 for 60 games or £5 a game
