New TV advice please

I'm after a new LCD TV, around the 22 inch mark (well actually I want as big as possible and my mother wants as small as poss but we've compromised at 22inch). I'm a little confused by the whole 1080p (or not) thing, but I've tried to look out for TVs that are proper full 1080p for use with my xbox 360.
I've had a look at the following:
http://www.richersounds.com/showclearanceproduct/LG-22LS4D/Lg+22ls4d.html
LG 1050 resolution, £150 clearance.

Foehn & Hirsch Full 1080p, £170
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158705
LG 1080P £183

Samsung, has lots of different inputs which is good but tbh I don't really need them, also seems to have 1080P input but isn't actually 1080P.
£200

UMC 1080P £160
Those are the main ones I've narrowed it down to, so you can get an idea of my budget.
There's a few more at argos which I ruled out for one reason or another (though I may be wrong in doing so).
The main complaint on the reviews for most of them seems to be the sound quality; I would really like something that has decent sound quality, but everything seems to suggest all these have tinny speakers. I'm used to quite an old Sony 28 inch CRT on which the sound quality is good but below par for a sony (but maybe thats just because its old and secondhand etc).
A bit of guidance would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Wasnt even aware they made 22" 1080p TV's! At that size you will not notice any picture difference so dont get hung up on it.0

So I won't notice any difference between 1080p and what exactly? What is the one that's 1050 x something, presumably thats somewhere better than 720p, and almost 1080p but not quite?0

Dont get hung up on the pixals at that size. I don't have an XBox so dont know if it uses HDMI or Composite to pass a picture to the TV but that will be more important to get a TV with the right connections. A HD TV will be 720p minimum. The Xbox will pass a 1080p signal and your TV will play with it to fit your screen. Because of the screen size of the TV your eyes will not be able to notice any lose of detail.0

I see, thanks. So basically I should concentrate on agreeable picture and sound quality and of course the right sockets? Aside from that they're all much of a muchness.0

Yes, I would look for connections, picture and sound quality at the size your looking for. In my opinion you wont go far wrong with the LG or Samsung at the size and price your looking at but dont expect to be blown away.0

Ok, but the reviews seem to suggest that the sound quality is better on the ebuyer Foehn and Hirsch than the LG or the Samsung. Tbh it wouldn't surprise me if the sound quality on anything is better than what I'm used to though.0
