Baillifs threat - what to do now?

Scottish Power were going to install a gas meter in my council house.
Transco came and said that the housing unit for the meter was not good enough - there was a hole in the flue - and off he went saying HE would contact the council
A month passed and no meter. I phoned SP. They said I had to ring Fulcrom Installations and get it fitted myself. - I phoned and FI said I had been given wrong info.
Back to SP and they said they'd get back to me.
Last week I got a Baillifs notification from a collection agency on behalf of SP. I phoned the collection agency and they said it was early stages, don't worry.
I phoned SP what to do now - they said I have to arrange with the council to have the housing for the meter changed. Phoned Housing - they will send somebody round to look. SP said it's out of their hands.
My question is - do I have any way to prove that I have been doing my best to move this forward - or will the bailliffs just seize my stuff?

Hopefully, somebody will be able to answer your question. Meanwhile, I would type up what you've said above with dates (approx if not known) and names if you have them. I's send that to everybody concerned and make sure that any phone conversations you have are confirmed in writing.

From now on I would put everything in writing, keep a copy and get a "proof of posting" from Post Office [free]

Oddly enough letters sometimes work when phone calls are forgotten [or ignored], and should things turn really nasty at least you have a documentary trail

How about involving you loacal councilor as the council seesm to be laggardly here

    Thank you for your advice.
The council came today with 2 plasterers who told my son the job had been done and left. I caught up with them across the street and they had been told that it was to fill a hole on the outside and they couldn't see one. So I showed them the holes left by the council plumber last year inside the box and they shook their heads and said it needs a new box and left.
I then got an email from the council customer services saying the senior inspector had called at my property and had authorised these 2 plasterers.
So I've emailed the council back to say this senior inspector never rang the doorbell, and never asked for more details.
Meantime the baillifs are coming on 3July.
I am sending a letter to both council, baillifs and Scottish Power.
    Thank you for your advice.
