Talk Talk contract nearing expiration

My 18 month contract with Talk Talk is up early August. The Internet service was not too bad at first, but is slow now. Although the router connect speed looks good, the throughput (loading Web pages, transferring files, etc.) is mediocre. I'm paying Talk Talk for a phone line rental, with the broadband package, and hardly use the phones (though the free International calls are nice).

My first priority is good Internet performance.

Any suggestions for an alternative vendor?
