Cancelling Vodafone Contract!!
Hi everybody,
I'm currently trying to get out of my Vodafone contract for various reasons that I won't go into in this, but they are unwilling to let me go (surprise, surprise). However, I've found myself in a strange situation........let me explain........
Basically, after having a lot of trouble with them and being left without a working phone, I wrote quite a strongly worded e-mail directly to the upper echelons of the company. I got a response saying that they were unwilling to cancel my contract but would offer me a new phone contribution free, albeit with an extension to my contract length. Not really what I wanted, but I thought i'd look into it.
I asked what the score would be if I got a newly released (HTC Magic) handset and was told that as it was more expensive than my original handset, they would offer me one but in order to do so they would remove my current committment and start me on a new 18 month contract. Now, after having heard this I've had a thought........
Seeing as it's a 'new' contract and this is all being sorted via e-mail (ie. online), would this qualify for the usual 14 day cooling off period? Seems a little too easy to me, but maybe my lucks in?
Any thoughts / advice would be greatly appreciated!!
