single parent moving in with partner

Hi
I will be moving to be with my new partner in a few weeks. Currently i am on is as a single paretn with rent and council tax paid due to the is claim.
When i move in with my partner i know my income support will stop but will i be able to claim job seekers as i will be actively seeking employment
Cant wait to move and start a new life :beer:

You would not be entitled to JSA as your partner earns too much and you will not get CBJSA as you will not have enough NI conts if you have not been working.0

hi im a single parent with 2 young children one i get dla for and carers allowance i am considering moving in with my partner but i dont know how it will affect me financially hes self employed and only earns aprox 180 per week currently i get housing benefit and council tax paid but am worried if we move in together we may not be able to afford it can somebody tell me how it works?0

you'll have to ask your boyfriend.... does he only earn £180 a week or does he only pay himself £180 a week?
As he's self employed by paying himself a low wage, it means he's paying little tax and making his NI contributions. He could be taking a £180 a week wage and £1000 a week in dividends.0
