moving with sky

hi,

I will soon be moving to a new house and taking my existing sky tv, phone etc package with me. However the house has no phone socket (although I think there is the wiring box outside the front door)

I currently pay sky for my line rental and so do not wanna pay BT to install the line and then be tied to a 12 month contract with them.

I've heard sky install phone lines now? Is this correct? I have been trying to contact them today but have been on hold forever...sigh

Thanks.

Yes, Sky do install lines now, sometimes you can catch an offer and its free so i would keep ringing them and haggle for a free one!!!!.
As far as i know if you have Skytalk with them the call is free on evenings and weekends. I would just persevere
and ring them later on tonight as the phones are really busy in the early evenin.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Managed to get through eventually after being passed around what seemed like the whole call centre for an hour....

Anyway the women said it would cost me £105 for them to install the phone line. It is only free for new customers apparently.

Will you be living with someone else? You may be able to cancel your contract with Sky and get them to sign up as new customers at the new address.
