Unfortunately I cannot find the receipt, will I still receive a refund if the clothing still has all it's tags on?

Then no, they won't refund, although they might exchange it if you ask nicely.

May I suggest you use the changing rooms next time - it saves a lot of hassle!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Had a response from TK Maxx :(

Thank you for your email , I am sorry to hear the item you bought was not suitable for you.

Im afraid we do need customers to have the correct receipt for the items they are returning. We did not take the decision to reduce the flexibility of returning goods without a receipt lightly but with our till systems in store, our associates need the correct receipt to be able to process the transaction at the till point. Without a valid receipt, they are unable to complete the refund.

Whilst we appreciate and understand that our customers have different personal circumstances, I’m afraid, that we are unable to help you on this occasion. Under our returns policy we need to be consistent and to treat all our customers fairly and equally.

Did you pay for it with cash - then your stumped.

If you paid for it with a card ie debit or credit then your statement should act as a receipt.

Hope its the second.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Well take your bank statement with you, and they might give you a refund. But they aren't obliged to, as they have stipulated the receipt must be taken in, not proof of purchase.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

You can but try it, it might just work.
If the dress was damaged their rules could not override legislation. As long as proof of purchase was given then the damaged article must be replaced or refunded. Doesnt work like that if you have just bought it wrong size.

Try it anyway, you have nothing to lose.
