We've got 'Groomers Professional, Baby Fresh Fragrance Spray' doggy deodorant. One application is meant to last 5 days. Not sure where we got it from, possibly ebay.

We've also got a coconut doggy shampoo/conditioner from Pets at Home - the smell of this usually lasts for longer than other shampoos we've used.

I got a spray in Wilkinsons that is a bit like Febreeze for dogs! That does mask smells for a bit. It's Wilko own brand and it wasn't expensive - couple of quid or so.
Here I go again on my own....

could it be a food issue or is she a particularly hot and sweaty dog?

ive no idea what s going on with her, she stinks after the bath, and the smell lingers for about 2 days!

  • Sounds like you are bathing her too much ( stripping the oils from her coat )

what do you feed her on? what breed is she?

All dogs smell, but wet dog is particularly vile. Have you changed her diet lately as sometimes that can do strange things. A mate of mine bought some doggy perfume cos her two were really stinky, it worked but they didn't like it.

  • ah - we had a wire haired JRT cross, poor lad stunk like a billy goat!!!

I wonder if they have a tendancy to be a little pongy (he really did hum, bless him) but it is worth asking your vet or groomer to check the dogs anal glands, as if these are impacted they can cause a stinky dog!
  • what do you feed the dog on?

( BTW, over bathing, which is what you are doing, makes the "smell" worse, because bathing strips the coat of its natural oils )
