I am interested in the Nokia 5800 and have now found out it is on Orange with "Nokia Comes With Music".

Is anybody using this service and what are your experiences.

Thanks....

I believe it's just been released and you have to sign up to a 24 month contract

I could probably live with the 24 mth contract as at the end of the day it means free music downloads for the 24 mths as well.

Also with Orange offering £150 cashback at the moment through Quidco it doesn't seem a bad deal for a good phone and downloads.

With O2 simplicity at the moment and with the retention department rather stale at the present time the most I can get is £150 to start a new contract if I stick with my old D900 so the one cancels the other out.

Just wondered how anybody is getting on with the service.

I've been using the service since January and have downloaded about 20GB of music tracks so far. Not all artists are available but most are. You can see what's available at http://music.nokia.co.uk but I think you need to use Internet Explorer.

The service is also affectionately known as Comes With DRM! I use Tunebite software to convert tracks to mp3 for use on my iPhone.

Unforutanately, the £150 has now been pulled from Quidco

Sorry to seem ignorant but if Tunebite converts tracks to mp3 does that mean I could burn those converted songs to cd to play in my car as well?

Yes, thats exactly what I do.:j

    Crikey!! :j:j

Sorry to be a pain but is the sound quality of the downloads from Nokia as good as or near to cd quality?? Just wondering as it almost seems to good to be true.

Just one step away from signing up to this I think, just waiting a bit longer to see if the £150 cashback for Orange comes back on Quidco.

The wma files you download from the Nokia store are 192kbs which is pretty good. Tunebite has to simultaneously play the files and record them to convert mp3 so there will be a slight loss in quality.

A better alternative is to "convert" them to uncompressed wav files and burn these to cd for minimal quality loss.
