I suggest that you either post the hijackthis log into the box on this site
http://hijackthis.de/index.php
follow the instructions if you are confident the entries are all dodgy.
Or go to any of the following for some more help if required.

All of these are expert in removeing trash.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Have they got a firewall in place?
Why not save all files and flatten the macine a start again.
The machine could be riddled with stuff.0 -
But when I run Internet Explorer I still get a lot of pop-ups! Some explicit one's!
Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.0
Scan saved at 16:16:30, on 21/12/2004
Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600)
MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106)
For a much better browser, use Firefox instead.0 -
Download and run all of the following
http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
These are free and will clean up, and in the case of the second one run in the background to prevent malware being installed on the PC. Just make sure to keep them up to date.0 -

Yeah they have a firewall (thankfully)! There computer has to many documents for me to wipe it and re-install everything! :-/0 -
You should really upgrade to XP SP2 as that will improve your overall internet security, and the SP2 version of IE has a pop-up blocker.
For a much better browser, use Firefox instead.
I wouldn't touch SP2! I'm waiting until they have it fixed before I install it on mine or there computer.
I installed Firefox yesterday as well! I hate Internet Explorer!0 -

This one is great! Helped to explain the log-file!0 -
If you don't want to use sp2 then I really recommend iespyad
(guide here - post #2)
I have to check my sisters computer once a week for nasties that the automatic stuff I've set up for her has missed. I always had to remove tonnes of junk
With IEspyad I've had to remove nothing recently. - Even the spybot logs show it's had nothing to remove with its automatic scans
When I use IE myself, I come accross sites that've been added to the restricted list quite frequently0 -
thanks sra! I'll give it a try!0

I have installed SP2 on over 30 different PC's, only small problem on two, one was fixed with an update to Nero, the other had a problem with a piece of software in the financial servicse industry which isn't compatable with SP2, still awaiting a fix on that one.
All users report virtual elimination of pop ups and better running systems. The three links I posted above together with SP2 will ensure adequate protection.
Here's a useful link with lots of info on spyware and adware http://www.shelbycs.org/technology/spyware/0
