Lol :rotfl:- Yes you do! I was going to reply to Blimus myself....but I must admit.....and Toots you will laugh at this......when it comes to throwing out 100 things - it has honestly, hand on heart, never even crossed my mind to throw anything away from any of my toiletry drawers and cupboards. I throw out clothes, broken toys, and carp - but never toiletries.

For the newbies who dont know, I have 2 drawers in each of my bedside tables which are all full of toiletries, lotions and potions. My top drawer of my 5 drawer chest is also full of make up, toiletries, etc. I have a tallboy next to the chest of drawers and both shelves in that cupboard are full - as well as my bathroom.

I have done the 100 day challenge and am pleased to announce that I bought NOTHING!!!!! :j I used up loads and loads of stuff and in fact finished another bottle of bubble bath last night. :T

My 100 days finished on the 10th June and the only thing I have bought since then was shampoo and conditioner - which I really really needed (and I bought some Australian Miracle Leave in Conditioner too which wasnt essential, but I wanted it for ages and it was my treat for finishing the 100 days) :o

Anyway - I havent joined the next 100 day challenge officially, but I have definately changed my ways about buying toiletries generally. Ive still bought nothing else and dont intend to unless i have used ALL of a certain item and really really need it - no more treats either. :D

I did keep loads of moisturisers and other lotions that are probably past their sell-by date but I had things like Chanel lipsticks from when I was working in London years ago which were almost dripping out the sides from being so old (know how they feel ;)). My problem is because they were expensive then I found them harder to throw. The same with expensive perfumes - I save them for 'best' which is probably really silly as eventually they're going to go off.
Toiletries were my obsession too (in pre DMP days!!).

    I'm a reformed toiltries hoarder..

I do however stock up on certain stuff when it is on offer.. john frieda and aussie hair stuff mainly.. the rest is just bog standard stuff and never on offer.. I do have a huge stash of lush stuff that I am working my way through.. but I do so love it!!

Just stripping the smelly bed and finding my way through my room as it is a bear pit.

Blimus - My problem is I am a very girly girl and love all my make ups, creams, body lotions, butters, exfoliator-for-this, something-else-for that, and then I go into Boots/Superdrug/Anywhere really and see things on special offer and think "ooooooh wonder what thats like!" - EVEN THOUGH I HAVE LOADS!

Or something new will come out and I will want to try it. I know what you mean about the expensive ones being harder to get rid of - Im exactly the same.

that's the trouble with 'stuff' - because it was expensive we feel guitly about throwing it. As far as make up is concerend it has oils in it which will feed bacteria and it goes off - maybe that will help!" You can cultivate soem VERY nasty eye infections from make up!
Try to get into the habit of getting rid because it's no good - forget how much it cost. I have posted this before but I used to tell my kids they couldn't throw certain toys etc out because they had cost a lot of money or because a certain person had bought them. And we were drowning in all kinds of clutter because I felt the same about my stuff. I managed to completely change my mindset on this and now say (to them and to myself) if it isn't being used/played with/loved/appreciated it is a waste of space and should be passed on (if fit) or thrown (if not).

    Morning all

can't catch up with the thread - sorry - too busy.

Friday errand done. Towels on line - WM x2 running, beds stripped See you later

One of th other threads I have joined is the 100 day challenge, I listed all my toiletries/perfumes and [STRIKE]have[/STRIKE] had 238 toiletry items, 18 bottles of perfume and 13 or so small bottles of perfume! I am now reformed and love using stuff up!

It is going along way to helping me clear my clutter too x
