    Evening all,

Think I might be down to about 15 hours housework left, spent hours in the kitchen tonight (trying to watch tv in-between) and have now managed to thoroughly clean and de-clutter 4 cupboards, 5 to go (along with the under the sink cupboard which I did a few weeks ago, so should only need a quick tidy)!

I feel like I haven't achieved much but also achieved loads IYKWIM, when I open the doors everything looks fab. Just finished doing dinner dishes and gonna clean sink Flylady style before bed. OH coming down tomorrow, think could be a Chinese on paper plates so as not to mess anything up.

What's the best way to thoroughly clean a cooker, only swish cleaned last time?! Nite all xx

    Evening ladies

Watching the Michael Jackson breaking news - not confirmed yet as to whether or not he has died or is in a coma.

Busy day again with cricket in another town.

Out all day on DS3 school trip so not much flying again.

Neighbours cat has turned up - hurrah

Rose - thanks for asking about Woody, he is brighter in himself, he was chasing a frog around the garden 30 minutes ago, but still not got quite his usual appetite. I may take him to the vet tomorrow evening if he doesn't scoff his brekkie

Soappie and Sarah hugs for both of you as neither of you are usually down

Firstly well done on everything you've achieved so far! Sorting out the cupboards will make everything else easier to keep tidy.

As for your oven, it depends on how dirty it is! Most people here agree that soaking the shelves in the bath with soda crystals makes it easy to get them clean. A metal or nylon scourer is useful for getting the stubborn bits off after they've had a good soak.

For the inside/window, I find that unfortunately elbow grease works best . If it's very greasy, a solution of soda crystals can help. For baked on dirt, a bicarb paste is good (put it on when the oven is warm, let it dry then peel it off). For day-to-day maintenance I wipe with vinegar and scrub the odd stubborn spot. Rather than do it all in one go, spend ten minutes having a really good scrub each week, and wipe down after use in between, and over time you'll see the difference.

Right... must stop listening to the news about Michael Jackson who may or may not be dead, and get myself to bed!

    night everyone...

ETA - Tooch - that's fantastic. They'll never believe you made it yourself!
