Rosepink - Commander Vimes has is Sam Vimes, plus he has a small son of the same name who was born at the end of the book I was reading whilst stuck in hospital. My Sam was supposed to be a girl, and we hadn't thought of any boys names.
*Off topic rant*
I took the boys to the park after school and watche DS2 who is 4 being smacked in the face by a boy twice his age. I went and rescued my hysterical son and asked the older boy which one was his mum as I wanted to complain to her about his bullying. He refused to tell me, and initially denied that he had hit him. I waited to watch him leave and spoke to his Mum to say that there had been an incident. She had a go at me! He has a learning difficulty and I have upset him by speaking to him, and I should have spoken to her. I explained that he wouldn't tell me but she got very shirty and said that they get bullied all the time at school and my son had probably done something to deserve it. At which point I walked away before I lost it publicly given that DS2 is half his size and just happened to be playing on the thing the bigger boy wanted to go on. I tried to find out whos child he was and judged him to be old enought to tell me who his mum is, I thought he was giving it attitude when he wouldn't tell me who she was. I told her so that she was aware that an incident had happened. I didn't march up demanding an apology or anything. Now am I just stupid but wouldn't you be keeping an eye on what your 5 and 8 yo children with learning difficulties are doing? The whole play ground watched the original incident while she read a book and didn't see, and then got to chuckle at my stand up row with her.
Not looking forward to school run tomorrow.

Evening all,
Home from work at last! Well think I may have to alter my strategy slightly whilst still following the daily lists! Have worked out (and I am no Carol Vorderman), that of the 168 hours in a week, minus sleeping time, work time, 2nd job time, gym time, making, eating dinner and some relaxation time, I have the grand total of 21 spare(ish) hours a week to dedicate totally to housework!
I don't know for the life of me how everyone who has kids/pets/OH's etc., manage. I have an OH, but we don't live together (god help me if we ever do)! I only have myself to look after, in a tiny house and I still can't get on top up things!
So 21 hours a week, roughly 2 - 3 hours a night or more at the weekend (whilst still having a life) is gonna be tough. Think I will concentrate on 1 room until it is done (only have 4) so it might take me more than the week to do it all - wish me luck!
Hugs for anyone who need them x0 -
hex - that's awful! at least you know you did everything you could to handle the situation in the right way. like you say - if the boy was that sensitive his mum should have been supervising more closely.
Today's Level 1 tasks done -( made much easier by fact I decluttered the worktop on Monday thinking that was a task) my fridge is very shiny - but I only did the side that is in the kitchen not the side that is technically in the dining room (is that cheating? probably!)
my 3 days of flying (or perhaps that should be flapping) are really helping me be a bit more organised. Last night I made a long to do list and I'm amazed that I've got most of it done. I know I won't be able to keep it up every week but at least the weeks I can will make a difference
So THANK YOU ALL! :jweaving through the chaos...0 -
