Taba vs Sharm el sheikh

Not many hotels in the centre of Naama Bay will offer All Inclusive (maybe a couple) but its really not worth it and you will probably regret it as there are some lovely bars and restaurants pretty cheap in Naama Bay.
The All Inclusive hotels are out of the way, and mainly (but probably not only) for that reason, they offer All Inclusive.
I have to agree though all-inclusive is a good way ot taking care of the costs "upfront" as it were.0 -
Taxis are sooooo cheap in Sharm, that it doesn't matter if you have to get one every day as its such a small cost. The majority of the hotels are NOT in Naama Bay.
I too am going to the Reef Oasis Blue Bay, the food was highly recommended along with 2 a la cartes which you can go to, we are not massive drinkers but liked that it was 24 hour all inclusive, as we dont want to start worrying about costs after midnight.
Naama Bay is pretty crazy, but we will probably go there once or twice in the evenings, however like I say taxis are so easy to get you could go every night and not worry.
In Sharm most hotels offer AI, its a good way to not worry about your money and you can still go in to town at night. Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -
Naama bay is terrible unless you enjoy being constantly hassled, we went in march with a 2 year old and a 6 year old, the locals would not leave us alone to browse and walk around the centre. Also eveyone is out to con you. Would never go back again.0

Ok then people.
Two questions for you then:
1) How much would it cost in £'s for a taxi from Sharm to Naama Bay. I know this is a stupidly open question, but really roughly, say the centre of sharm where the main hotels are to naama bay?
Are we talking £5 there, or £1 there or what?
2) How long would the journey take, is it feasible to stay in Sharm and taxi to naama?Amo L'Italia0 -
depends wereabouts in sharm you are staying. taxis like everything else you have to haggle for. we were 10 mins from naama bay and probably could have got a taxi for around £3 maybe less if you haggle hard.we tended to use the hotel taxis which were more expensive as they picked us back up in naama at an agreed time and it saved all the haggling. the all inclusive option is good value, especially if you like a drink. naama is expensive for buying alcoholic drinks.0

I agree, it depends whereabouts. Around £3-£6 pounds depending on where the hotel is. It is definately feasable.
Budget for £4 per way per night and you should be more than pleasently surprised (depending where your hotel is).Happy

Think I'm going to go All Inclusive. Never done this before, and also never been away for 14 days on holiday either, so a little nervous.
I will eat out a few times, maybe two or three times on each week in the evening.
Don't think that's a waste, but what would be is eating in the hotel every single meal.Amo L'Italia0 -
think most of the hotels will have a good variety of food to choose from. we didnt eat the same things twice. there was always an extensive choice to choose from at reef oasis blue bay, there were various restaraunts including a la carte to choose from. you could always look up the different hotels on tripadvisor0

Another couple of AI hotels in Naama Bay are the Kiroseiz 3 Corners (2 minute walk) and the Ghazala Gardens.
If you have a look at the main taxi rank at the entrance to Naama Bay, there should be a sign with guide taxi prices (or at least there used to be when I lived there a few years ago), so never pay more than that.
Taxis in Sharm are cheap, as long as you know what you should be paying. Its also an experience you'll never forget!!!0 -
We were AI and when we went out for the day the staff did us a packed lunch at no charge. it was very good too0
