Advice on leaving cable area to national area.

Hi, i am going to be moving house soon from a cable area to a national area meaning no cables. I currently have Virgin media bundle of talk unlimited, 8mg broadband and xl tv package...the query i have is based on the fact that i work from home and need good and reliable internet access as i am connected to an outside system through PC...so downtime equals no pay

So i have been looking at my other options when i move and getting bogged down by it all...any recommendations, i have looked at sky and bt hub and tiscali but am getting mixed reviews...or do you think i should split my services, like broadband from one tv from another and so on as cost effectiveness does come into play but i also know you get what you pay for.....does anyone know what virgin down your phone line is like, is it reliable??

Thanks for any input Claire.
