Alicante car hire thats straight forward

Hi everyone. First time I have used the forum with what I thought was a very easy question. Following the advice on the website, I have been attempting to book a car (for 2 adults and 2 children plus some cases) for our Spanish holiday. WE fly into Alicante airport in August for 2 weeks. The prices on the websites seem to change by the day- some only give an amount of the price, there's all extras for this, that and the other to add on that they dont. Some say you have to walk 'alittle bit further' to collect the car!
Why cant it be straight forward!!!

I am running out of time (and patience)

Has anyone had a recent pain free experience based on cost and the car company being straight forward? Cheers

Complex business this car hire caper.....
Yes car hire prices are changing daily....upwards only im afraid.
And yes if you look at other posts car hire companies are very short of cars......and that is fact.
    I have used www.economycarhire.co.uk
  • Thanks Mervyn. This is rediculous. I think it would be cheaper to have my own cat valet driven there

Yes the same thought has gone thro my mind...
10 months ago you could hire a car for around £10 per day now you are lucky if you can get one for £20 per day !!!
If I was you I would be getting on and booking your car before it is too late and you have no choices left.
I booked a Clio with Carjet about a month ago for 37 days from July 15th it cost me £851 euro. I paid for this on booking at an exchange rate of 1.10......

The plus to booking with Economycarhire is you are sure to get your car,a little tip take out their extra Insurance for screens tyres and underbody or you may be forced to via the car hire comapny they ECH agree the contract with. The down side is you have to pay up front.
You will also need to pay by CC €55-€70 for a tank of Fuel which you will need to return the tank empty(impossible we know so run it as close as yuo dare !) If you hire for 3 days or less you can do a full tank return wiht no extra charges.

    Enjoy your holiday

My tip is don't take the extra insurance they offer you. Go for this instead:

    http://www.insurance4carhire.com/index.asp?addU=1&refID=1264&langID=1&curID=1&gclid=CIGTnpiFpJsCFUoB4wod8QhWCQ

It costs £49 for an annual policy, good value if you hire cars abroad more than once a year. And do it through a cashback site (I use Topcashback) and you get it 20% cheaper!

We usually use DoYouSpain for the hire as they are very competitive for the cars we want. We have never had any problem with them whatsoever.
