How far back can I claim

Options
I've sent a letter requesting refund of charges from August 2001 until First Direct closed my account in 2006. The National Debt Line advisor told me that the Statute of Limitations apply and I can only go back 6 years to 2003.

Is this correct?

Unfortunately. National Debtline are unaware that the FSA sent a letter to the banks' reminding them of their obligations under point 13.5 and data retention in March 2009. The statute of limitations does not apply to bank charges cases since you can go back to July 2001 under the waiver which the banks' agreed to.
They are wrong on this occasion.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
