Apologies for posting & running- I wanted to draw attention to the piece while it was still on- but then bluescreened, and by the time I was back in the loop there were other more pressing things to worry about!Only dead fish go with the flow...0

“Without Prejudice” and using the now traditional phrase “this is my last post”
Thanks to all posters on this website. For me it was, in my personal opinion, that I felt I had been treated very shabbily by a large organisation. I could accept that occasionally things can go wrong but it is how you correct those mistakes. B&Q just showed a dogged determination in my view not to attempt to satisfy me. And yes, I was in court this week on this issue at the start of the process. BP provided a barrister who, was actually human and suggested I contacted the named person at BP. I found the person I rang at BP courteous and able to suggest a way to move the issue forward without going to court. If you have the time to follow this through then going to court is always an option. If not why not ring BP and talk. It was explained to me by their barrister that BP would not make the first contact.
So in the end I have accepted an offer to settle my claims out of court which I believe is fair and proportionate for both sides. The one issue I forgot to ask in the offer is for a donation to http://www.justgiving.com/lossofbargain. Please anyone who goes down this route, ask for a given sum to be donated to this worthwhile charity as part of your settlement.0 -
Thank you Balloonist for your generous donation together with the cheque I sent them for the dishwasher proceeds we are far far in excess of the £100. I know others who have sent payment direct or added something (to avoid being seen to have won, thus breaching what they have signed) to a local fund raising for the same charity so I know we are into quite a lot of money already. Just want to reiterate, if you wont want to publicly give money, you can pay them direct.
I think Barristers are on the whole very approachable. When I saw Lloyds in court the other year, I had him in the court room for 1 1/2 hours labouring over the arrogance of his client and he actually agreed. On the way out we walked back to our cars and he offered me some extra guidance. They are there to fight when they have a case and cover blushes when they are not. If your onto the latter, then happy days.0 -
Hi anybody out there with a claim still proceeding, I put my claim in earlier this week(always been a late starter) received the customary letter back from B&Q to say that Bond Pearce are now their legal representatives,I would just like to say thank you to the previous posters(especially T Beckett, Pocoyo, Lynsey Frugalfran & Ballonist) for a lot of very useful & entertaining information,it made it a lot easier to fill out the claim form. I have followed this thread from the begining until it went dead on the 3/10, miss the action, I am sure there are still a few people out there with unresolved claims.0

I've submitted my claim, received their confirmation of serving and it says they're defending it. Just waiting to see if I'll get the same letter or whether it'll be a trip to court..0

If I wish to make a claim, now that a outcome has been acheived by others. Who do I need to write to etc.
I cant find the original links from TBeckett re Loss of bargain.
