Cancel Contract - Long Shot
Hi all,
Long shot here i know, but i signed up a blackberry yesterday afternoon on orange.
I work nights so off i headed to work at 11pm last night only to realise there is 0 signal at my place of work!!!
Imagine my horror!
I did check the coverage prior to signing it up, but , it seems that inside the building we have zero, zip, nada!!
Is there any solution to this, i wanted the phone mainly for work so this is a killer ( 24 mnth contract! )
Thanks in advance
A very sad Jon lol

normally you have a 14 day cooling off period when you buy a contract phone.
So just take it back and tell them you want to return it,
You should only have to pay for your line rent for the fews days you have had it0 -

Sadly it would appear not with Orange
The have no cooling off period......0 -
There is no cooling off period if you buy in store only if you buy online or on the phone.0

Why do people STILL give out this incorrect information?
1) It doesn't apply to shop sales
2) It is seven days. 14 might be offered as goodwill.0 -
/sigh guess im stuck then0

Maybe not. If the checker showed that your coverage was very good, but it turns out it isn't, then you might be able to return it. There was a program on watchdog about this about a month ago. However they may try to get around this if there is coverage just outside the building, but it is the building that is limiting reception. Worth a shot anyway!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

If you read what i wrote.
I put normally !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As all online/phone sales have it and some other retailers do. (O2 Retail, Phones 4 U, and maybe others)0 -
You don't have a returns period unless theres a problem with signal as far as I am aware, then they will allow you to return it within a 7 day period.
Take a look at the terms and conditions.
P.S. I'm not 100% sure if this applies to just your home abode or your work address aswell.0
