The council might not be interested, but why wouldn't the police if it was stolen?
Are you suggesting anyone can nick a car and as long as it's on private property, the rozzers wont come a calling?
Are you suggesting that if someone stole my car, the rozzers wont take any action unless they happen to stumble across it on a public highway?
Edit: if the car is abandoned, then the council should remove it on request.

(but it doesn't sound as if the OP has any evidence to suggest its actually been abandoned yet)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
But only if you want a criminal conviction for criminal damage.
Funnilly enough, smashing a window and then re-reporting the vehicle as an unsecured hazzard was exactly the advice given to me by a police officer once.
Not while they were looking of course but it got the dumped car removed in double-quick time.0 -

Neither have the first idea of what their talking about.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
If the car is blocking you getting out of your drive then call the Police and ask then to move it if they say there is enough room tell them that your wife is afraid of damaging both cars. Some will tow the vehicle away or some will tow it over to the other side of the road and leave it once they have checked to see who's car it is. If a car blocks your drive and you can't get in they usually won't do anything about it.
You could always jack the car up on trolleys jacks and push it into the middle of the road and report a it.0 -
Quite honestly, just put a chain round the thing and drag it out of the way...preferably leaving it on double yellows.
No fuss, end of problem.0 -

Modern car? Transponder? Whay would the thief damage the door locks or ignition?
No indication of the age of the car is given by the OP."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Thanks everyone, we will ask the neighbours if we see them and I think if it's still there in another week or so knock on a few doors and if still not claimed try calling the council - thanks Premier, have just checked the policy on our local council website via the link you posted. It's not blocking access although it is a bit awkward.
Think it's about 10 years old, a Frontera, looks in reasonable condition although one of the tyres is a bit low.0 -
Are you near an airpost? Sounds like someones parked and gone on holiday. Bet it disappears overnight when they get back.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
