whilst i remember - for those wanting to do announcement cards for the pregancy - i made mine using cards and envelopes, ribbon and little rocking horses and just put the word expecting... on them in the end. they cost about 20 to make and around 20 to post (most overseas) so thats £1.25 each - what a saving on calling loads of people abroad :T . and i dont have to deal with them saying "we already know" thanks to a gossipy oh and my sister out law:rolleyes:

    Hi girls

I mainly 'reside' in the parent's club but I qualify for here too - 37 + 2 at the mo'. Just popped over to say that Skinty was asking about home births and mentioned a c-section was a possibility.

I had an emergency c-section with DD and didn't realise that I could have asked for her and hubby to have stayed with me in theatre while I was stitched up. As it was she spent her first 45 mins with hubby in the recovery room, which was lovely for the two of them, but it would have been nice to spend it the three of us!

I wish someone had offered this as an option so this time it's in my birth plan and, at a recent consultant's appt, he saw no problem with this.

I just thought this info would be useful for any of you thinking a c-section is a possibility or who end up with one like I did.

HTH and hope to see you in the parent's club at the appropriate time!

We all miss posts, get muddled with names or spend ages catching up only to forget what we wanted to say halfway through our reply. That's what makes this a nice thread because if one of us makes a big boo boo the others just have a good giggle and point it out rather than put you down. Not that I've ever got muddled you understand!
