Evening ladies! How lovely is it now it has cooled down? It was pretty warm here this afternoon, but there is a lovely breeze now which will hopefully mean the bedroom has cooled down.
Nanc- so sorry to hear about your cat. A bit OT but my Mum's dog had to be put down on 11th May. Her next door neighbour has just bought a puppy that was born on that exact day. How random is that?
Glam- no idea on the SMP question, I'm afraid. Maybe citizen's advice could help on Monday?
Had a very productive baby preparation day today. Picked up two little glowlights in Mothercare for £1.49 with giraffes on which will go perfectly in our nursery. Also got a nursing bra for £7. Then chose our cotbed and matresswhich my Mum is buying for us. Went for this one in the end with a sprung matress, and my Mum also picked out this rug from the catalogue which she is ordering too. My Mum's great!
Am just about to order a glider chair from Mothercare too, using the two 10% off codes so hopefully they still work. Have decided that a comfy feeding chair is important so worth spending a bit as we have been really lucky picking up the other nursery furniture cheaply in sales etc.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
(((Hugs Tia))). X
Glam, no idea sorry, no brain at the moment.
OH being a pratt today as he's had to do the housework. Been moaning constantly and the atmosphere has rubbed off on the kids. Now I find out he's got his Mother, her sister and daughter coming over tomorrow (why wasn't I asked) at 11.30am so I assume that's for lunch then and I didn't hobble round Tescos yesterday for him to give them my food I bought for my kids. Will he go and get them something himself, will hell freeze over!!!Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
dear MIL - mine had GD in pregnancy so was OK about it and just said oh you'll be fine and my own mum thinks they are overreacting and I shouldn't bother!
She is Type 1 and when having my sister they tried giving her Insulin whilst in labour, she kept refusing it cos she knew she didnt need it but the end was so sick of it she agreed. Her blood sugars then dropped dangerously low because of the insulin so they were forcefeeding her toast while she was pushing sis out
Her advice - don't listen to the professionals, listen to your body!
Thanks for the ACAS thing - I'll try them.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Hi - I'm OK it's just knocked me a bit because I really wasn't expecting it. The MW's were even shocked when results came thru! It doesn't help that I'm a fussy eater and have a sweet tooth! Am hoping to get an appointment at the diabetic clinic this week instead of the week after as my blood sugars were all over the place yesterday
Don't forget to take book or something cos they don't let you leave the clinic once you are there! The test itself was OK, had bloods then had 5 mins to drink the stuff - mine was clear and tasted of bread but others said it was orange and tasted of cheap fizzy orange - I woulda preferred the orange! Then a 2hr wait and more bloods. Make sure you take a snack cos they wouldn't let me leave until I'd eaten. Cos you fast and then they overload your body so you could faint if you don't eat.
Hows things with u?A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Mine tasted like a glass full of water and half a glass of icing sugar, it was rank!! Made me retch and I could only drink two thirds of it! My hospital must be tight! :rotfl:
I'm sorting baby clothes into her two drawers so that should cheer me up a bit eh? So strange using the old PC!!!0 -

Hi all
Nursery furniture is all together now but surprise surprise, there is further damage. The cot has a massive split in the end and the replacement drawer front is again worse than the one it is replacing.
However, I cannot fault the Customer Service chap, he was brilliant. If what he says is true he is going to get everything sent to him first, for him to quality check, then when he is happy it is perfect he will send it on to me. He still wants me to provide all the photos and details of all my problems so that he can decide on the level of good will (bribery to shop there again) that they will offer.
The CS staff at mothercare are a perfect example of how to treat customers, if only they could get their quality right it would be a pleasure to shop with them. I only hope there is nothing wrong with this mornings order otherwise I'm afraid the little patience that I do have may evaporate completely.
Hope you are all enjoying much cooler weather, hopefully it will stay nice, cool and dry tomorrow for the boot sale. I need to make as much money as possible and clear out most of the junk that is now filling my car. Dad has put the rest in the loft so my house is starting to look much better.

my mum has type 1 and they actually almost didn't do it!
Their criteria is Type 2 not 1! but a high BMI is also the criteria
post a pic of your bump! we'll tell you if you're huge!!
harley - aw I hope u get a big gesture of goodwill as they have really messed you about! Barstewards!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Harley, you are not having much luck with your Mothercare furniture, are you? I've just ordered my glider using the codes you mentioned so am dead chuffed! Hopefully it won't be damaged when it arrives! I also ordered some of the buy one get one half price bedding basics and a pack of muslins as I know people were raving about the Mothercare ones and they are 20% in the sale, plus the 20% off thanks to the codes!
I think you should be looking at some pretty substantial compensation, to be honest. You've spent a fortune with them! Let us know what they offer.....:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
