Tesco clubcard credit card issues

Just recently taken receipt of our tesco clubcard credit card clubcard and have spent over £220 outside tesco as well as a considerable amount in the store.

The problem is the points don't seem to be going on.

I checked tescos own receipts and it does appear we are only getting normal clubcard points at tesco (i.e. no bonus) and so i phoned to query this. The woman on the telephone said that because it was a new card the bonus could take some time.

The way i understood the use of the card was you got 1 clubcard point per £4 when using the card outside of tesco and 5 clubcard points per £4 in tesco (gaining a 1 point per £4 bonus). Both recent receipts showed a spend of £18 giving 18 points and £17 17 points which is the same as a run of the mill clubcard.

So is this normal for a new card or is the customer service rep giving me the run around ?

Do you use your normal clubcard when you shop at Tesco? If so then the points go on to that not the CC.

I have had a Tesco Clubcard CC for years, and I get two separate clubcard statements each quarter, one for my normal clubcard and then one for my CC. But the points can be redeemed together.

TPF shows 53 points but that apparantly is included. It just doesn't seem to add up the way i think it should but maybe thats just me.

No we was only using the CC which apparantly takes the points even though we just insert into chip and pin.

In my experience, it has taken around a week to add the points onto my TPF points balance for some purchases made outside tesco.

Sorry if you already know this, but may be useful to the question, but do you know that you only get 1 extra clubcard point for every £4 spent anywhere including tesco (the 5 points for every £4 spent in tesco means you get the 4 points that you would normally get anyway if you used a standard clubcard plus 1 extra point for paying with your card)? Suggesting this as a possible reason why your points aren't what you are expecting.

I thought that the points were transferred over every month when your statement was generated. Definately don't appear at the same time as the shopping points.

Yes i found this out AFTER applying for the credit card. It seemed that on Uk Hot Deals people were saying you got an additional 5 points per £4 at tesco but found this not to be true.

On your reciept you'll have 3 figures:
    1. Points this visit. This is the standard points from your shopping, green points & any coupons.
    2. Total up to #Date#. This is the total number of points you have earned, up to the day before. Any points earned on the day of your purchase will not be included, even if they come in multiple transactions.
    3. This includes #Points#. You may have either one or two figures here. These are 1. Green Points- Again the total number of points in this category up until the day before. 2. TPF Bonus Points- These are where the credit card points come in. When your credit card statement is generated, the points will be totalled up and added on the day afterwards. Hence, the points total you're actually seeing here is up until last month, and any spending this month won't show up until after your statement is generated.

Aha i understand now, i think :). What about the bonus 1 point per £4 spend at tesco using the clubcard credit. I still think these are not going on.

I wasn't aware the points total didn't include that days transaction either so thats another area i'm pleased you highlighted. Many thanks for that.
