how do I clear all my credit card debts....

Hi,

A lot of adverts on TV are offering to clear all my credit card debts/loans if I took them out before April 2007. I was wondering how do these work and also is there a guide for me to do it myself rather then pay a company to do it?

You find your last statement, see how much you owe, fill in the payment slip with that amount, and take it into your bank and pay it.

"Simples" as a meercat would say!!

    Yes there is a way.

It's the opposite to how the debts were run up.

    Pay them off

If you go on to the National Debt Helpline website there is a warning on these companies.I would advise you to steer clear of them.

    Hi,

how do I clear all my credit card debts....
Pay them off, if you are in financial difficulty then seek advice from a legitimate source i.e. National Debt Line or the CAB.

    Good luck.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

It is somewhat slanderous to suggest that the company in question is not legitimate without supporting evidence.

However, you are correct that the National Debt Line and CAB will offer free advice and are not profit-making organisations such as those that are frequently mentioned on these boards.

I am aware that you feel that challenging CCAs using unenforceability is morally wrong. Do you know that both of the organisations that you have recommended to the OP will also suggest unenforceability as a tool to tackle debt problems ?

Can you provide documented evidence of this?

Urm no, you have not slandered me and I cannot take you to court on someone else's behalf.

With regard to documented evidence I am not sure what you looking for, but I know someone who works in CAB and they tell me that unenforceability is becoming more and more accepted as one of the tools utilised to assist someone with debt problems.

In addition if you go on the National Debtline website, www.nationaldebtline.co.uk you will see sample letters geared towards unenforceability, such as requesting CCA's. At the end of the day, why else would you request a CCA if you are not hoping that they fail to comply with the request, thereby making the debt unenforceable ?
