A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Its annoying when you have to tidy to go to bed. I hate it when you have changed the beds but havent but the fresh stuff and you forget until you walk in tired, or you have done the washing and just dumped in on your bed. (this usually ends up on the floor then!)MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

I've made a fridge bottom soup for mine and the kids lunch. Not really the right weather but it will be nice. Not that hot in the house.
Trying not to think about what the budget might have in store for us later. I am going to remain calm and zen. Perhaps if i don't watch the news and turn the computer off i can live in my own blissful bubble?

VAT to go up to 20% in January 2011. - We are planning on having the kitchen done too after the bathroom, so will try and get that booked in for some time in the Autumn.- personal tax allowance to go up to £7475 - will leave us a little better off. I am even less likely to hit this than the last rate. Mental note to self, must sort out the forms you fill in to not pay tax on your savings ASAP. Should have done it when i left work really.
- child benefit to stay the same for next 3 years - no real biggy. It goes up a couple of quid per year so 2*52, +4*52 + 6*52 = £622 over 3 years. I don't think we will really notice that.
- child tax credits only affected for those on over £40k - we are not at that level, so no worries.
- no increase on taxes on fuel and booze at the minute  We spend a fair old bit on fuel, and a bit less than we used to on booze.
I will have to have a think to myself about what other purchases we may be considering making.
this is good to know. I do wonder though why people on more than £40k a year need to be on benefits as well?? Surely thats not right? it should be £30k, maybe only saying that as I will get nowhere near either BUT if I was then I am sure I wouldnt need benefits on top of it.
We talked at work about VAT, once it goes up they reckon it will never come back down.MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987
