Tesco direct and three piece suite

I ordered a leather suite from Tesco Direct end of July 2008 and noticed it hasnt been 'comfortable' to sit on for the past month or so. Felt as if it was dipping in the centre. After a closer inspection it now looks like the frame has broken at the centre back. I have sent the company an email on 8th June and despite two chaser emails I havent heard from them nor had an acknowledgement to my email.
I have looked up on the Sales of Goods Act etc and still not clear what my rights are. I think for the price we paid for it, just over 10 months use is not reasonable considering there are only two adults using it. We had our last three piece suite for seven years and it was near perfect - we only replaced it as we changed our colour scheme. Have put all this in my email.
I havent phoned them as yet as I felt I could cover everything in writing more explicitly than talking on the phone but looks like I may have to resort to that. Before I do can someone please give me any helpful pointers as to what I can request, my entitlements etc so I have some idea as to what my exact rights are before I just accept what they tell me or say.
Many thanks.

We had a problem with a Tesco leather suite where the leather shredded on the seat cushions after three months of normal use.
I phoned customer services who sent out a technician from an independant testing company called FIRA. He said the leather was not fit for purpose (they covered the seats with split leather which isn't hard wearing enough for seats and usually just used for non-wear areas like the backs of sofas).
Once the technician report went back to Tesco, they offered either a refund or replacement. Due to the overall poor quality I took a refund. The sofas were collected promptly and a refund was issued within a couple of weeks.
I would give them a ring and take it from there. Here I go again on my own....0 -
I ordered from Tesco in the beginning of July, the deal was buy one sofa get another free. Already the sofa is coming apart!!! And it's not even 3 months old. The seams have came away and the sponge is now on show, now i'm not a heavy person or anything! and haven't been jumping up and down on it so there really is no excuse for this!
Anyways i decided to get on the phone to them today and reported it (wish i had only done this 2 weeks ago!! as its gotten worse over time), will get a call for someone to come out and identify if it is a manufacturers fault. Will keep you updated! Here's hoping I will be offered a replacement.0 -

hi there
i would give tescos a call and speak to someone
although the sofa is only 10 months old they may well get you to have an independent report done to prove that it is a manufactures fault, as when this happened to me with homebase they gave me the whole as it is over 6 months old it is up to you the customer to prove that the fault was a manufactures fault
on the other hand reading some other replys tescos may well send someone round to check it out and refund/repair or replace
i hope you get it sorted it took me nearly three years to sort out my sofa with homebase, needless to say i will never buy from them again0
