That's your own opinion and your welcome to have that but with a mans stomach with a scar all the way down along with the effects it gave me when I drunk it and when I gave it up is enough for me to know that coke does harm you over time.

Many sweetners are laxatives anyways so you don't want to be consuming too much of them. I know nobody ever reads the small print, but next time you're about to have a diet something or other, take a quick look at the label, it probably will advise you to limit the amount of that particular sweetner you eat each day. If you eat/drink quite a few diet products, you may easily be going over that limit.

Tired, run down, achy, bloated tummy, the runs ? Now you know why ;)

There are the equivalent of seven teaspoons (39 grams) of sugar in 1 can of coke - and sugar does 'do harm to humans' - so on the contrary there are lots of reasons not to carry on drinking it:

It used to be primarily diet products but I guess it would include any products that state "with sugar and sweeteners" on the label. Seems to be more and more of those around

I hardly ever drink fizzy pop. Just the odd lemonade or dandellion and burdock with my fish and chips! I prefer sparkling water. I didnt used to like it but you have to persevere and make it into a new habit. It soon sticks.

In our house we call it dandelion and burpdock ;) Childish I know.

If I go out now to the pub I will have a still mineral water. Can't stand fizzy it does not taste right. Diet cola is not good for you with all the stuff in it.

But in a lot of things like lemonade and Cola even if it is not diet version it still have sweetners in it

I have read the reason that people are getting fatter it is not necessary the food we are eating but what we are drinking. E.g large amount of soft drinks. And of course in the US they supersize everything so they could drink almost an entire days worth of calories in a superlarge regular cola  scary or what.

"selling soft drinks is incredibly profitable. "We at McDonald's are thankful," a top executive once said, "that people like drinks with their sandwiches." Today, McDonald's sells more Coca-Cola than anyone else in the world.

The fast food chains buy Coca-Cola syrup for about 53p a litre. They add the syrup to bubbly water and serve it in a paper cup. A medium Coke that sells for 75p contains about 5p worth of syrup. "
