You have unfortunately paid a deposit. If it was me i would have a damn good argument with them but at the end of the day you agreed the price when you paid the deposit.

This happened to me, drove 80 miles to see a car and the price on the screen was £300 more than in Autotrader. While the guy was happy to give me the Autotrader price, he did use it during haggling with the justification "but I'm letting you have it for £300 less than the screen price" which of course was complete rubbish.

If I hadn't have managed to palm him off with a completely shot part-ex, I might have been very annoyed........

From a dealers point of view...

We often get prices wrong. But this is nowt to do with us, as it's usually the air head at the local newspaper that keys in the wrong figure. A 1 could easily look like a 4 on a fax copy of an advert. As can a 1 and a 7...

We often had cars advertised like Alfa Romeo 156 Twin Spak or Twin Spank. Rather than Twin Spark...

Or some Rovers that had the "SE+ pack" came out in the paper as "SEA Pack".

Honestly, these !!!!!! typists should really know a little bit about cars...

I would offer £3195. If he accept then fine, if not then walk away and he loses a sale :)

OP has left a deposit and agreed to pay the higher price already.

:rotfl: enjoyable post, just waiting for the '!!!!!! typists' to say that those 'sheepcoat wearing car dealers' should learn not to write like a doctor then they could get the ads right. :A
