We found a car advertised in Autotrader priced at £3195, went on the dealers website it also said £3195, went to buy it and the guy said it was £3495 when we questioned this the guy said no its advertised at £3495 so taking his word for it we paid a deposit , when i went home i was right it definately said £3195 checked again this morning and the price had changed to £3495 and today ive looked in our local newspaper and the same car is advertised at £3195, has the dealer got to sell at £3195 or not

No he hasn't got to sell it to you for £3195."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Its called invitation to treat.
Basically they don't have to sell it at the advertised price. However if they repeatedly advertise the wrong place they would get into trouble with trading standards.
Worth ringing the salesmanager to complain you might be able to get it for the price advertised especially if the salesman lied to you.
But they are under no obligation too.0 -
I would offer £3195. If he accept then fine, if not then walk away and he loses a sale0

Take in the ads & have the arguement.
It wont cost you anything to do that. Not Again0 -
Some traders place adverts at a lower price than they want to attract customers to call or visit them so they have a chance of selling a car. It looks like this might be whats happened here0

You agreed to pay full asking price for a used car?
Oh well, by paying the deposit you agreed the deal at the contract price of £3495.
Bet the dealer loves you"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I didnt say i didnt agree with the price if i didnt then i wouldnt of paid the deposit would i  i just wondered if the dealer should sell at the advertised price or not, i think we've had a bargain as it was originally advertised at £37950
